Idyllic thatched holiday home in Houstrup - dogs welcome

We were in this house with 7 people and a dog and felt very comfortable overall. The house is not the newest and in some places it may be somewhat aged, but still reasonably equipped and very cozy. The natural and fenced-in property is especially nice, which should be particularly appreciated by dog owners. However, one has to expect some road noise here and there, as the main road of the holiday area is very close to the house. Additional costs are okay and the price-performance ratio of the house is very good! Unfortunately, we didn't get much out of the fireplace, as it gives off hardly any heat due to the construction and is more decorative. If you don't need too much luxury and are looking for an affordable and large house, you will be well served by this house.

A very nice holiday home, with great amenities and very cozy. Just as we imagined. We would book this holiday home again at any time. We felt really comfortable.

The house is really beautiful and very well maintained. The property is also fully fenced. Our dog loved being able to roam around the house without a leash. Everything you need is available. For the household, there's a washer-dryer, dishwasher, clothes dryer + pegs, vacuum cleaner, various cleaning products, plenty of storage for groceries, etc. The hot water supply is also excellent. There is no hot water tank, so it wasn't a problem if several people wanted to shower one after the other. There are enough seating areas both indoors and outdoors for the possible number of guests. The sofa in the living room is incredibly comfortable and feels very high quality, and there are also plenty of cushions for the garden furniture upstairs. The top floor is very cramped due to the sloping roof, which unfortunately is not entirely conveyed by the photos. The staircase leading up is also very narrow and quite steep, and you have to bend your head when you leave the stairs. It's definitely not for people who are around 2 meters tall. We had to rethink our planned distribution of sleeping places at short notice because the taller people in our group originally wanted to sleep upstairs, but thanks to an extra bedroom, it wasn't a problem. This should be considered when planning the sleeping arrangements. There is plenty of tableware and cooking utensils in the kitchen. I found the ratio of wine glasses to water glasses funny. I think there were 20-30 wine glasses in the cupboard but significantly fewer water glasses. :) It wasn't a problem; we just bought a few glasses at a discount store and left them in the house. The wardrobes in the bedrooms could be slightly larger for a 2-3 week stay, but that's also a matter of personal taste and doesn't result in a point deduction for me.

The holiday home is idyllically and quietly located in a forest, it is pleasantly quiet and fits perfectly into the 'scenery'. It is really great for switching off. The fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere in the evening.
