Beach Bowl Søndervig: Games, Fun and Action at the New Location
The wait is over. The much loved Beach Bowl in Søndervig is back. In brand new, modern premises right beside the Lalandia complex, a wide range of indoor activities is waiting for the whole family.
Previously located on Lodbergsvej, you will now find the new Beach Bowl at Vestkystvej 2 in Søndervig. The completely rebuilt activity centre is more modern than ever and offers a genuinely good mix of sport, games and Danish hygge. Although it is now run by Lalandia, it remains open to every visitor, whether you are staying in an Esmark holiday home, at Lalandia or in a private house. You do not need to be a Lalandia resident to walk in and book a lane.
The Highlights at the New Beach Bowl
Modern bowling:
Twelve brand new lanes with the latest light and sound technology, so a party atmosphere comes as standard. For the youngest guests, bumpers can be raised automatically at the sides of the lane, which means every single throw becomes a hit.
Padel tennis:
Try the sport everyone in Scandinavia is talking about on the new indoor courts. Padel is easy to pick up and delivers proper action for beginners and experienced players alike.
Fitness centre:
A gym with modern strength and cardio equipment is ready for your workout. For early risers and night owls, access is often possible outside regular opening hours using a scan code.
Valo Playzone:
A highlight for children and gamers. In this interactive play world, physical movement and digital gaming elements merge into a genuinely unusual experience.
Dart Arena:
Test your aim on virtual dart boards offering a range of different game modes.
Mini Monky Tonky play area:
A safe, colourful zone where the smallest holidaymakers can let off steam to their heart's content.
Food: Danish Classics at Kroen
After the activities, the in house restaurant Kroen is the place to refuel. Here you can enjoy classic Danish dishes such as the famous stjerneskud.
If you have not met a stjerneskud before, it is worth ordering purely for the experience. The name means shooting star, and it arrives as an open sandwich on toast with both a fried and a steamed fillet of plaice, topped with prawns, asparagus, lemon and a spoonful of caviar. It is one of those dishes that looks like a small architectural project and tastes like a Danish summer.
A special tip: every Thursday, Kroen serves the Danish national dish stegt flæsk med persillesovs, crisp fried pork belly with parsley sauce and potatoes. You can order it as a single portion or ad libitum, which is Danish for as much as you can manage.

From Fire to Fresh Start: The Story Behind the New Beach Bowl
If you have holidayed in Søndervig before and are wondering why the building on Lodbergsvej is gone, here is what happened.
In March 2022, a devastating fire destroyed the original Beach Bowl completely. It was a hard year for the area, which was hit by four major fires in under twelve months, including holiday apartments at Hotel Klitten in Søndervig and the salmon farm Atlantic Sapphire in Hvide Sande. For locals, holiday home owners and returning guests, losing Beach Bowl meant losing a genuine meeting point, not just a bowling alley.
Lalandia took over the site on 1 September 2024 and rebuilt the centre from the ground up as a roughly 2,000 m² building just north of the water park, deliberately designed in the same architectural language with a sloping, planted roof. According to Lalandia's managing director Jan Harrit, the goal was to carry on the legacy of the old Beach Bowl as a place where locals, holiday home owners and tourists all mix.
That last point matters more than it might sound. Plenty of resort activity centres are effectively closed shops for anyone not staying there. This one is not, and that was a deliberate decision.
Bowling in Søndervig When the Weather Turns
Let us be honest about why most people end up here. The North Sea coast delivers spectacular weather and also, several times a week, the other kind. Beach Bowl is one of the few places within a few minutes of the holiday home areas along Holmsland Klit where a family of six can spend three or four hours indoors without anyone getting bored.
Our practical suggestion: book a lane for late afternoon rather than midday. The middle of the day is when everyone else has the same idea, and a 16:00 or 17:00 slot followed by dinner at Kroen makes for a very easy evening. If you are travelling with teenagers, the combination of padel and the Dart Arena tends to work better than bowling alone.
Getting there from your Esmark holiday home: From Søndervig you are there in a couple of minutes on foot or by bike. From Houvig allow around 5 minutes by car, from Klegod about 7, from Lodbjerg Hede around 8, from Nr. Lyngvig about 12 and from Vedersø Klit roughly 20.
