Nørregade in Højer

In Nørregade you'll stay centrally, right in the heart of the idyllic old town of Højer, set in the Tønder marsh – the gateway to the Wadden Sea. It's only around 3 kilometres to the Wadden Sea. If you'd like to combine Danish cosiness with unique nature, this is just the place for you.

The region around Højer is full of history and culture. A landmark is the imposing Højer Mølle, one of the tallest windmills in Northern Europe, which today houses a museum. The old sluice is well worth exploring too.

The region around Højer is part of the Wadden Sea National Park and thus a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In spring and autumn you can witness the magnificent natural spectacle of the "Black Sun" here, when vast flocks of starlings gather in the sky – a paradise for birdwatchers. Walks along the dikes and through the wide marsh are a delight. The island of Rømø and the historic town of Tønder are very close by.

The holiday homes in Nørregade are cosily furnished, many with a wood-burning stove – the perfect retreat in the heart of Højer.
