Sønderklit in Fanö Bad
Sønderklit lies in the first row of dunes at Fanö Bad – you can hardly get closer to the sea. From several plots a path leads straight down through the dunes to the water.
The elevated position on the dune ridge brings exactly what Fanö is known for: wide views across the dune landscape and sunsets over the North Sea that you can follow straight from the terrace.
Right next door is Fanö's golf course – Denmark's oldest golf club, laid out among the dunes. Restaurants and the centre of Fanö Bad are within walking distance; for a bigger shop it's best to drive to Nordby, where the ferry crosses to Esbjerg in twelve minutes.
The holiday homes on Sønderklit have character: classic wooden houses with exposed beams, thatched cottages and buildings from the 1930s and 1950s, many of them modernised. Most have a wood-burning stove, sheltered terraces and large windows. Ideal if you really want to stay right by the beach.
