Umanaksvej is a small lane in the middle of Kongsmark, making it an excellent choice if you want a central base on Römö while still enjoying peace and quiet. Both coasts are within easy reach: the Wadden Sea side lies just around the corner to the east, and the wide North Sea beach at Lakolk is only a few minutes away by car.

The surroundings are shaped by heath, dunes and open marshland. Kirkeby Plantage, Römö's largest woodland, begins nearby and offers marked hiking trails, a forest playground and the Spidsbjerg viewpoint. From the dyke on the east coast you look out across the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, all the way to the mainland.

Right next door, Naturcenter Tønnisgård invites you to exhibitions and guided tours – from oyster safaris to bunker walks. Heading south you reach Havneby with its golf course, fish shops and the ferry to Sylt.
