On Umanaksvej you spend your holiday in the south of the North Sea island of Römö, nestled among dunes, pines and wide stretches of heath. The famous Sönderstrand is just a stone's throw away – an endlessly wide sandy beach that ranks among the largest in Europe and that you can even drive onto in many places.

The firm, open sand is a paradise for sand yachts, kite buggies and kites of every kind. Windsurfers and kitesurfers also get their money's worth in the fresh North Sea breeze. If you prefer something quieter, you can set off on long walks or cycling tours through the dune landscape, spotting birds and perhaps even seals along the way.

Not far away lies the cosy harbour town of Havneby, with its shops and restaurants and the ferry across to Sylt. A visit to the old captain's house Kommandørgården is also well worth it for a glimpse into the island's history.
