The living museum is located in Haurvig Abelines Gard, The Strandvogt farm, together with the historic lifeboat station, gives an excellent and very interesting picture of what life was like in the dunes in earlier times. A combination of agriculture, sheep farming and fishing was the only possible livelihood and the lifeguarding of the beach by the beach bailiff was the only lifeline for sailors in the event of a shipwreck.

The church of Haurvig, originally built in 1869, was renovated in 1947 and the church tower was built, is always worth a visit.
