Kallesmaersk Hede

Kallesmaersk Hede, located between Blåvand and Vejers, is an approximately 11,000-hectare nature reserve that is home to many plants, birds, and other animal species, including large populations of red deer. They have a vast area to live in among the diverse dune and heath vegetation there.

For a long time, Kallesmaersk Hede has been used in part by Danish and international armed forces as a military training area. Parts of the area are then temporarily closed off, and the exercises can be heard here and there in the surrounding area. Detailed information regarding closure and firing times can be found online.

The annual “Open Heath Day” (Åben Hede) is a popular event that attracts large numbers of visitors, who can view current and historic military vehicles. The Danish military also conducts combat exercises on this day.
