At the southern tip of the North Sea island of Fanö, on the south-eastern edge of the skipper village of Sönderho, you'll find Kåverdalen – wonderfully peaceful and surrounded by protected dune land. From many of the plots you can enjoy sweeping views across the Wadden Sea and the adjoining Kåveren marshland. It's only about 1 km to the broad sandy beach of the North Sea.

The Wadden Sea on your doorstep is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a paradise for nature lovers: at low tide you can spot seals and countless birds out on the sandbanks. Guided seal-watching and nature walks also let you experience the unique wildlife up close.

The idyllic Sönderho is within walking distance. Stroll through the narrow lanes with their thatched houses, stop at a cosy café and sample the regional cuisine. A trip to the main town of Nordby is well worth it too, and Fanö's broad sandy beach invites you out for long walks and relaxed days of swimming.
