The beautiful landscapes on the west coast between the sea and the fjord invite you to go on long cycle tours, so you can follow the paved cycle path from Nymindegab to Ringkøbing and enjoy the tranquillity of the extensive heathland and observe the diverse animal and bird life.

Hiking and jogging on the Danish North Sea

The west coast of Denmark offers ideal conditions and routes for hiking, jogging and running. Water sports a great activity for everyone

For the "water rats" among you, Holmland Klit on Jutland, with its location between the sea and the fjord, is the perfect starting point for many hours on the water, whether you want to go for a swim or a boat trip Water skiing in the cable park at Hvide Sande or surfing on the fjord and sea, also as a guest on the Bram sailing schooner Maja, which is anchored in the harbour of Hvide Sande and regularly offers sailing tours.

Golf in Denmark

In our holiday region, you can combine your Hobby with a beautiful Golf holiday in your holiday home and play on some of Denmark's most beautiful golf courses. Thanks to the mild winter climate on the North Sea, most of the courses can be used all year round. But not only experienced golfers are welcome on the courses, the courses are also ideal for beginners.

Museums, art & culture on holiday

If you are interested in the history of the region, you can learn about it in lively Museums, In the old dune farm Abelines Gård in Haurvig or the Bork Havn Viking Museum, you can find out how people lived and worked on the Ringkøbing fjord in ancient times or visit the Fiskeriets Hus in Hvide Sande, where you can marvel at fish and other sea creatures up close in the aquarium alongside an exhibition on rescue services. 

Between Søndervig and Ringkøbing you will find Kloster Design, a great destination for the whole family. Here you can make your own candles and find lots of lovely souvenirs for you or your family and friends at home in the Bo Bendrix gallery.

The world's best sand artists meet in Søndervig

Every year, the world's best sand artists come to the holiday resort of Sondervig and create impressive, metre-high sculptures out of sand. The international Sand sculpture festival in Søndervig attracts more than 100,000 visitors every year. There is a new theme every year and it is hard to believe that the sculptures are made of pure sand and water. Despite wind and rain, they last for many weeks and can be marvelled at by young and old alike.

Experience Danish culture

As a holiday guest in another country, it is of course always interesting to learn something about Danish culture. Hvide Sande, for example, invites you to many fishing-related events where you can learn a lot about the harbour and the profession of fisherman. An annual event in the summer months is the Sand Sculpture Festival in the popular seaside resort of Søndervig. Here, a team of the best sand sculptors create the most incredible sand sculptures every year under a different theme.
